報告題目：Synthesis of plant natural products in yeast through synthetic biology

主講人簡介：江會鋒🧙🏼‍♂️，博士，中國科EON4天津工業生物技術研究所研究員👩🏼‍🎤，獲中國科EON4“百人計劃”👨🏽‍🦲，天津市傑出青年基金等人才項目支持。主要研究方向是合成生物學🔬，開發新蛋白質功能元件的理性改造與設計方法，利用新酶設計技術創建從一碳到多碳化學品的生物合成途徑，為變革生物製造原料路線奠定基礎；利用組學技術發掘植物天然產物合成途徑與關鍵基因，采用合成生物學技術構建與優化植物源天然產物的微生物異源合成工程菌株，為創新植物天然產物的生產模式奠定基礎。已先後在Nature Communications，PNAS等國際學術期刊上發表SCI論文30余篇🐨，申請專利15項，國際PCT專利1項。

報告英文簡介：Medicinal plants have been used in China for thousands of years. Many natural products from plants show great pharmacological activities and are major sources for the discovery of new drugs nowadays. However, the supplies of some plant metabolites can’t satisfy the requirements of markets. In our lab, we focus on solving the supply problem for high-value natural products through synthetic biology. Synthetic biology will use engineering principles to design and assemble the biosynthetic pathways in microorganisms to produce medicinal natural products, precursors, and even new compounds. Firstly the genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic datasets will be constructed to dig up the genes involved in natural product biosynthesis. After isolating all the genes, the biosynthetic pathways would be reconstructed in an engineered microbial strain. And then genetically modification would be done in the strain based on the analysis results. Currently, we are investigating the genes involved in the biosynthesis of flavonoids and terpenoids in several Chinese medicinal plant species and metabolically engineering the production of scutellarin, phloretin, diosgenin and so on in yeast cells. The engineered yeast strains can serve as the basis for creating an alternative way for producing natural products in place of extractions from plant sources.
