報告內容(摘要)

A major goal of the NCI Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC, http://proteomics.cancer.gov/programs/cptacnetwork) is to characterize the proteomes of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA, http://cancergenome.nih.gov/) tumor samples that have been analyzed with high-throughput genomic technologies. Pre-existing TCGA datasets present two important opportunities to maximize scientific discoveries from the CPTAC data. First, genomic data can facilitate proteomics data analysis. For example, customized protein databases that incorporate genomic sequence variation and mRNA expression information can improve protein identification, especially variant peptide identification. Moreover, genes identified in genomic and transcriptomic studies can help prioritize candidate proteins for targeted proteomics analysis. Secondly, effective integration between genomic and proteomic data can potentially reveal novel biological insights that cannot be gained by analyzing these data separately. To pursue these emerging opportunities, we are developing systems biology approaches to facilitate cross-omics data integration.
